About the Artist:
Suzie Ross
I was born an old soul and feel like I live in the wrong decade. The romance of the night inspires me! Seeking out and taking pictures of neon lights & retro signs allows me to relive the history that I should have been a part of. Shooting with film on a vintage camera helps me create an authentic retro vibe. These images were all shot on Cinestill 800T film with my Hasselblad 500cm (1968) and Leica M6 cameras.
I’ve also been dabbling in Polaroid for the instant gratification and play with a modified SX-70 by MiNT. I shot the entire Edgewater: Shelter in Polaroid Zine with this camera.
I live in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood by the lake with my fiancé, 2 cats- Bandit and Ollie, and a mixture of mod-retro & new tech decor.
